Currently with Sony only wireless connection is fully supported with the 'Smart remote control' Playmemories camera applicatin.
I began working on USB connection but it is not fully functional.

I managed to build a version for Raspberry Pi 4 bookworm where you can directly connect with vnc to qDslrDashboard.

I did try this but as far I know also didn't get it working.

No, as focus is handled by camera, so only the options that the camera supports are available.

Unfortunately it is not possible, at least I don't know about it.
You need to connect your controlling device to the camera.
Canon cameras have this functionality where you can connect the camera with wireless to your local network, but for Nikon I don't know about.

While live view is active the host mode is enabled by camera and it can't be deactivated.
On Z models it can be deactivated but on DSLR not, it is a camera limitation.
