Many thanks for the replies.
I've attached a couple of screenshots showing the log which does not show the Canon camera listed as well as a shot showing which lights are on. I've also used 3 different cables which all work fine on the other router.

I've not been able to get my TP-Link 3040 to connect to a Canon 5D MKIII. I have two of the routers which both have the openWrt firmware installed.
