Canon 1300D problem under XP SP3

I've installed new drivers with Zadig and dslrDashboard connects to the camera ok via USB but there is no liveview shown on screen. It can take a picture (I hear the shutter) but no image displayed on screen. Also most Dashboard screens are missing meaningfull numbers as per the attached screen grab. Any suggestions?
