Can't manage to connect D5300 to Windows APP

Post by shuradecoy »

Hello ! I'm very new to this place and I hope I'll find some answers to my questions.

I've got myself a brand new d5300 that I wan't to use on my computer, but I can't manage to connect it to the windows app

I run Windows 7 64 bits

so In order : I connect the d5300 to the computer, connection seems to work well although nothing's displayed on the d5300 screen, I'll try to explain myself the computer displays connected on the wifi status to the d5300, but the d5300 keeps displaying "awaiting connection" or something like that. When I launch the DQQ on the computer, even when I click nikon nothing happens.

I tried to connect the d5300 in usb but no way It doesn't work either, DQQ doesn't see the camera.

Is there a complete video tutorial for this camera somewhere ?
some known issues with this camera ?

thanks a lot !

Please use this newer build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMZ8X ... sp=sharing
The debug version will create a qdd_<date_time>.log file on each start in your Documents folder.
You probably need to run the vcredist_x64 installer before you can use qDD.
If you need a release version (without the log saving) you have it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMZ8X ... sp=sharing
just unpack and overwrite the qDslrDashboard.exe

For USB connection on Windows you need to install the WinUSB driver for the camera as described here: http://dslrdashboard.info/windows-insta ... sb-driver/

For wireless connection:
- enable wireless on your camera
- connect your controlling device (PC/Laptop) wireless to the camera wireless (be sure that your PC/Laptop is not connected to another network as it could have the same IP - 192.168.1.1)
- start qDslrDashboard and press the 'Nikon wireless' button. If you changed the camera wireless IP then long press the 'Nikon wireless' button and in the upcoming IP dialog enter the IP and press the 'Ok' button.
