Cannot "capture sample" in LRT Mode

Post by digia »

Hi,

I try to shoot a timelapse session first with qdslrdashboard.
Using a Win10 PC, everything is running well. Can capture mages with my Canon 5D Mk III via the external pixel Intervall timer.
Setting in the camera is M-mode, RAW on CFcard & JPG (size S3,smallest size) on SDcard. Get every JPG image downloaded to my PC.
I start LRTimlapse, switch to LRT mode in qDDB. When i press the "capture sample" button, i hear the camera capturing, but no image is shown in qDDB. The same failure, whe i press "Display next JPG". Also "Auto Holy Grail" is geayed out.

What's wrong here. Who can help?

Please try this newer build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMZ8X ... sp=sharing
This is a debug version that will create qdd_<date_time>.log file in your Documents folder.

This is a release version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMZ8X ... sp=sharing
Just unpack the qDslrDashboard.exe from this archive and copy over the debug one.

Thx,

for the new release, but nothing changes in the functionality. I cannot get Images when pressing "capture sample" ....
Perhaps i make mistakes in using this two apps. I didn't really find a description how this two apps work together.
I read the ePaper from Gunther, I read your Manual, but there is no detailed workflow written for using both.

You should use qDslrDashboard for capturing the images (timelapse) and after that you use LRTimelapse to process those images.

There is the LRTimelapse screen in qDslrDashboard that can be used for capturing sunset/sunrise transitions.
In the LRTimelapse screen after pressing the 'Capture sample' the camera should capture an image and it should be displayed.
If it is not then something is not working as it should, then please run the debug version and send me the log file.
Also you should describe each step you did.

Hi

i changed to the debug Version, attached see a scree shot of qDDB and the log file.

the procedure was:

reboot PC (Win 10, Intel i7 2.9 GHz, x64, 16GB RAM)
camera ON (Canon 5D Mk II, latest Firmware)
mode-M, RAW + JPG(S3) - smallest size, Manual Focus, WB => cloudy, Auto-ISO OFF
Focus and proper exposure by Hand
Setting Pixel TW-282 timer
connecting USB cable to camera and PC
camera linkt to PC => OK
execute qDDB V3.5.3 (debug version)
execute LRtimelapse 4.7.4
click on USB Icon in qDDB => camera values are shown
click on camera Icon => capturing one picture => image is displayed
click on LRT mode
click on "Capture sample" => camera captures => no Image displayed
click on "Display next JPG" => nothing happens
cannot activate "AUTO Holy Grail" for processing a day to night timelapse

The problem was that the RAW files where saved to CFCard and the JPG files where saved to the SD card. Will try to figure out why.
