Another Error getting dslr list from ip 192.168.1.1

Post by lvdjc »

Hi, I just joined this forum so first off hello to all. I just got my tp-link mr3040 and followed the V2 instructions to get it to open wrt. It all went ok and the device shows up on 192.168.1.1 on both my ipad mini and 2 seperate Asus zenpad 8's. I can go into my pads browser and open 192.168.1.1 and get to all the settings so that connection must be ok. I got it to connect 1 time through a usb direct connection from my 5d mark iii to the Asus with the qdslr app but anytime I try to plug that same cable into the mr 3040 all I get from the QDSLR app is the following

When my Ipad's or tablets internet is set to my home network the App shows the following

13:05.33 Searching for DDServer
13:05:35 DDServer not found, connecting to IP:192.168.1.1
13:05:35 List connected DSLR at IP: 192.168.1.1

When I set the Ipad's or tablets wifi to DDServer I get

13:09:14 Searching for DDServer
13:09:14 DDServer found at 192.168.1.1
13:09:14 List connected DSLR at IP: 192.168.1.1
13:09:14 Error getting list from IP: 192.168.1.1

I have searched the forum and google and cannot find a way to fix this. I am computer savvy but by no means an expert. Need help. I am assuming that since it connected and worked through the usb connection that the cable (which I bought from Amazon as a OTG cable) should work for the tp-link as well. Going crazy here for the past three hours. Any help greatly apprectated. Dave

You need to use the MR3040 full size USB port and don't use an USB OTG adapter.
Did you flash the OpenWrt firmware with ddserver from here: https://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/

Check this post regarding ddserver: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2101

Hi, Stupid me did not try the full size usb cable. I plugged it in and it popped up. Now I cannot get it to auto focus. I have a 5d iii with a 24-70 2.8 with auto focus on the lens turned on but it will not auto focus. I can micro adjust focus point on the bottom of screen so I know it can control camera but can't figure it out. Thanks

No need to answer the above question. I realized I had the shutter button set to Metering only because I use Back button focus when not shooting tethered. I changed it back to Focus/metering and the AF on the app worked. Looking forward to exploring the app. Thank you!!!
