qDslrdashboard v 3.5.5 immediately closes upon opening

Post by kbklarry »

I am trying to run v 3.5.5 on an Android tablet running Android 5.1 with a USB connection to a Nikon D850. The documentation indicates it should work.
I was successful on a couple of attempts. Sometimes I get as far as opening the app and selecting the USB connection option and it will search a bit and then the app closes. Other times, simply opening the app gets it to immediately close. Sometimes, just selecting the USB icon closes it.

Thanks,
Larry

Do you use an USB OTG adapter?
Be sure that the 'Use Android native USB access' option is enable in qDslrDashboard settings.

Yes, I am using an OTG and I have had native usb access checked off. Now, I'm getting a better hit rate when I try to connect. I guess I'll just say that whether or not I get a connection is random.

Thanks,

Eventually try a different USB OTG cable.
How long is your USB cable? Do you use the one that come with camera?
What is your Android device maker/model? Does it fully support the USB host function?

Hi... I have two OTG's which are made by Samsung, the manufacturer of my Nexus 10 tablet running Android 5.1. My USB cable is the short one that came with my D,850. So, the problem might be my old Nexus 10? It does have Host USB function. Thanks.
