Today I checked how the behavior changed in the 0.2.8 version (iOS).
Unfortunatelly it's still not working perfect.
The combination Sunrise / Auto direction only works when the light amount increases but not when it's decreasing.
Ocassionally the exposure is adjusted once which isn't sufficient for cases when multiple steps are necessary to adjust for the changed light conditions.

Can you give me an example how to test it.

I tested it almost exactly as last time I tested it with 0.2.7 version

I started shooting in a room with low light amount with following configuration

max ISO 3200
min ISO 100
max shutter 5"

sunrise w. auto direction 20%, avg pool size 3, corr. every 2 frames, EV step 0.67, no aperture ramping
Internal QDD timer 10s

Initial exposure was:

ISO 3200, shutter 1/5s, f/5.6

After 5 shots I turned light on which overexposed the scene by approx. 4 EV
So QDD slowly (in 2/3EV steps) adjusted the exposure to final values of:

ISO 125, shutter 1/5s, f/5.6

After taking about 10 shots with this exposure values I turned the light off.

Since auto direction was active and the floating average brightness of the scene dropped considerably ( I didn't note exact values, but the ambient light level changed by at least 4EV ) I expected QDD to adjust the exposure back (or at least close) to the original value.
Unfortunately this did not happen. After 20 frames shot with unchanged exposure I gave up.

Managed to reproduce. There was a sign error.
Over weekend will rebuild all the platform and release a new build and will also submit to iTunes
