Nikon D810 connected with USB to Xperia Z Ultra only Host Mode in Liveview?

Post by OrangUtan »

For Nikon (D810)-users that only like to use the app to realize an extern monitor, it seems that it is not posible to switch the left "Host Mode"- button if liveview is on.
The "Host Mode" Button switches only in "Camera Mode" if liveview is off.
If livewiew is off, both monitors are black, even the build-in-monitor of the D810 is black and the livewiew-button on the camera shows no reaction.

The manual explains no explicit behavior of the monitors in the two situations: Camera Mode and Host Mode.
The manual explains only that the on-camera-hardware-buttons works in Camera Mode. Yes on-camera-buttons working, but only livewiew-button is not working.

loose-loose situation?

any ideas out there? ;)

In remote mode after enabling live view the camera switches to 'host mode'. While in 'host mode' the camera buttons are disabled. This is a camera limitation (all Nikon models work like this).
