How to manage Multiple tablette-tplink connexion?

Post by djoubert »

Hi,
Now I enjoy managing Dslr from Tablet+tplink,
Some friends intend to join me with the same configuration.
So how to manage to have the right tablet connecting to the right tplink ?
Thank you

Really simply - just change to WiFi name and password on MR3040

Yes, as GonzoG suggested change the wireless AP name in the OpenWrt web interface under Network->Wifi
You should also change the wireless channel to.

Hi,
Thank you for answers.
Nevertheless could you provide me with more information:
I connected to the tplink, I am able to change the ESSID : DDserverAP to another name for instance DDserverAP1: OK?
I did not see where to change or set a password ?
About the channel change suggested: is it the value 11 2462GHz I have to be changed to another value ?, which one ?
And about the tablet or the dslrdashboard application do I have to change something ?
Thank you very much

Yes you can name them like that DDServerAP1, DDServerAP2, DDServerAP3, etc (or whatever name suits you)
Channel can be any value but if you use more wireless networks in same room/place it is better to pick different channels so that there are no interference.
According http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels the non overlapping channels are 1, 6, 11 .

Wireless security is under the 'Wireless security' tab in the web interface where you change the 'ESSID', by default it is disabled. You would probably use WPA2-PSK (or whatever security you use for your wireless)
You must select the Security encryption and a password.

On tablet/qDslrDashboard there is no need for any change.

If anyone has really tried and tested the opposite of this - connecting multiple TP-LInk 3040's to a singe tablet I would appreciate hearing from you directly -perhaps via web chat - I would appreciate it. So far have not been able to do it - tried multiple configurations extending the network etc.
