USB C not working

Post by RG500 »

Hi.
Has anyone got USB C working with qDslrDashboard? I have a Galaxy Note 8 and a Canon EOS R. They work fine via Wi-Fi but not at all via USB. I've tried several different combinations of cables including USB C to USB C and a USB C to USB A with the supplied A to C Adapter but there is no connection between the camera and qDslrDashboard.

Thanks

For USB connection you need an USB OTG adapter (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_On-The-Go).

Thanks. But as far as I can see, OTG doesn’t exist for USB C. (apparently because it’s not necessary with USB C)

I use this one with my LG G6: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01LNQ ... UTF8&psc=1

So I would say it exists and it is required.

He is correct, there is no such thing as OTG for USB-C. What you bought is just a Type-C to A adapter, which you are plugging a Type-A to Type-C cable into. Much like what you would use on a MAc to plug in a mouse. A straight C-C cable would do the same thing
