I'm trying to connect the MR3040 as a client to my access point/router so the photos can be transferred to my desktop.
So far, I had it work great with my iphone 5c (9.0.2) with qdslrdashboard connect to my MR3040 v2 to my 5dMark2. But I want the range and freedom to roam around my home without being tied to my phone.
I've tried to search google "openwrt as client" and I felt like I got close, but it never worked.
Things I've tried: cleared all the settings, Scan for AP, Connect to my AP, then save & apply. Turn off and on router, plug in 5dMark2, ran qdslr dashboard on my windows desktop. It couldn't find ddserver by trying to find it automatically. I wouldn't know what IP address to look for in the "Long Press" menu.
Does anyone have any instructions or a good link to help me with this?

anyone have any experience connecting the MR3040 to a wireless network?
I'd like to be wirelessly connected to my laptop, but using my home's wifi network in between.

It's really tricky and often MR3040 won't connect automatically with existing WiFi.
Much easier will be buying USB WiFi dongle and connecting computer to 2 WiFi networks.
