TL MR3040 Ethernet Port

Post by hbeardave »

I tried searching for info on this first.. so I apologize if it's already been answered.

I was successful in flashing my TP Link MR3040 wireless router with the OpenWRT that has the DDServer.

I was able to connect to my Canon 1DX with both my laptop and my iPhone when using USB between the router and the camera.

The Canon 1DX also has an Ethernet port, and can set to use the EOS Utility or be a WFT Server. The router will assign the camera an IP address, but I can't seem to connect to it with DSLR Dashboard.

Is there a way to connect DSLRDashboard to the 1DX using the Ethernet port? And if so, is there any advantage (such as faster photo transfer) in using it instead of the USB port?

Thanks!
