DLSRDashboard looks great and I'd love to get it working on my Nikon D800. I have a Nexus 4 Android phone which doesn't support USB OTG so I can't use a direct connection between the phone and D800.
Is it possible to run DSLRDashboard successfully on the Nexus 4 if I use the TP-Link MR3040 wireless router and connect that to my camera? I'm assuming this would work, but I wasn't sure if USB OTG was a hard requirement for the device running DSLRDashboard.
The other question I had was whether a special OTG cable is required for the TP-Link to camera connection. The D800 has a USB 3.0 with a Micro-B connection. I was hoping it would work with a standard USB 3.0 cable with the correct connectors on each end which I already have.
I appreciate any help you can provide!
D800 + TP-Link Question
Re: D800 + TP-Link Question
Yes, the Nexus4 will work with the MR3040 solution. The USB host is not a requirement.
For MR3040 you don't need any special cable or OTG adapter, you should use the USB cable that you get with your DSLR.
The MR3040 has a full size USB 2.0 port.
