Motion/sound detection trigger

Is there any way of triggering the dslr dashboard from a remote trigger eg sound or motion?

Have a triggertrap and works well on its own but if have dslr dashboard connected no triggering takes place. Presume that dslr dashboard takes precedence over the triggertap signals?
