Connection breaks on ipad

Hi Zoltan,

It's me again. Since it's working now I got to play around with it a little and I'm loving the app so far!! I've got it for Android on my phone and the IOS version for my ipad mini.
Now, when I'm playing around changing camera settings through qdslr dashboard on the ipad, or when I'm shooting an image sequence by using the lrtimelapse function, the camera randomly closes live view (mirror down) and qdslr dashboard goes back to the start screen as if it would loose connection to the camera.

Do you have an idea what could be causing it?

What DSLR do you use?
How do you connect (camera wireless, MR3040 wireless)?

I use an EOS 60D and connect it via USB cable to a mr3020

Is your wireless connection stable? Check that your iOS device does not switch to a wireless connection that has internet access.

Sorry for getting back so late. I was super busy at work the last days. Thanks for your continuous replies!!

I don't see why the ipad should switch to another connection. It doesn't have a simcard inside and even Bluetooth is switched off. I had the same problem with my my android phone, it runs on oxygen OS. On the Android phone I also got the simcard disabled while being connected through the WiFi of a Mr3020 with my eos60d

Thanks in advance.!

Hi Zoltan,

Ive tried it again. This time with an EOS 600D, Mr3020, Oneplus 3T (oxygen OS 3.5.4).

Qdslrdashboard connects to the camera. I see the live view and after a couple of seconds it looses the connection.

These are the last lines of the log:

I also tried to connect my phone via a USB-c OTG cable to the camera but there won't be a connection neither.

I would appreciate you helping me, so much. Am gonna go on a trip to poland next week and would love the program to work!

Log shows that your camera disconnects from router after 60 seconds.
It might be camera problem (hardware or some settings) or router problem.
If you can try connecting different DSLR.

I also tried the two following cameras: eos 600D as well as eos 80D. With the 80D there was no connection at all and the 600D disconnected directly after having a connection between app and camera for about not longer than 5 seconds I'd say.

One more thing question - have you tried different USB cables ??
I've noticed that Canon DSLRs need cables with longer plugs.
Friend has 6D and only one of my cables worked with it. With others there was no connection at all.
Also had similar problems with my Nikons - on 2 of my cables router dropped connection with camera although those cables work perfectly with computer.

Last thing to do is to reflash qDD firmware on router.

If changing USB cable and reflashing firmware does nothing than it might be faulty router.
