Tablets work thru USB-OTG

Post by tak530 »

Hi !

I am buying a tablet specially for running qDslrDashboard in the field.
I do have a MR3040 running DDserver but prefer connecting my camera thru USB
for stability and power. I wonder if there is any tablet (other than Nexus 7, I know
this works, but it's old and too slow for time-lapse) that will control cameras thru USB-OTG ?

Thank you.

Trying doing some Google searches for the tablets you like to find out if it supports USB-OTG, because it's kind of a hit and miss. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" and it supports OTG perfectly. I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7" and it does NOT support OTG at all.

Hey Mack!

Same here. I looked around and found an 8" LG tablet featuring USB-Host (that´s what needs to have for USB-tethered).
It´s around 130.-€ and seems to be quite good for our purpose!

best, Klaus
