A small guide to the interval timer
- Interval timer button – with this button you can show/hide the Interval Timer dialog (if the Timer is active the button will be red colored)
- Frame count – the desired frame count. If the frame count value is 0 the Timer will run until the user stops it
- Interval – the desired interval (minimum interval is 1 second)
- Bulb time – the desired bulb time if shutter speed is set to BULB. This field is only visible if shutter speed is set to BULB.
NOTE: the BULB Timer will only work on DSLR that support BULB capture - Timer controls – with these buttons you can start/stop/pause/resume the Interval Timer
NOTE: if the settings are wrong the Timer will not start (BULB time > interval) - Interval ramping duration – the duration of the interval ramping. The timer will increase/decrease the current interval to the target interval. For now only linear inc/dec is added.
NOTE: at the end of the interval ramping the application will set the target interval as the current interval - Interval ramping target interval – the target interval for the interval ramping. The application will gradually increase/decrease the current interval during the interval ramping duration until it reaches the target interval
- Interval ramping control – with these buttons you can start/stop the interval ramping function.
NOTE: if you stop the interval ramping the application will set the last interval as the current interval
just tested it and something is wrong.
when i set BULB to 2 min and i set 1 sec interval time, timer wont start until i set the interval to 2min and 1 sec.
but then camera takes 1 two minutes exposure and pauses for 2min and 1 sec. Then starts again and so on.
HOW CAN I SET IT TO TAKE 1 MIN EXPOSURE AND 1 SEC INTERVAL?
1 second interval will not work as the camera needs some time to finish the capture. You would be fine with 3-4sec depending on camera model and SD card used. So 2 min 3 sec interval should work.
That does not work with android version? After step one, i have a time lapse windows instead.
If you could explain the problem maybe I can help. Maybe your Android device vendor/model, Android version, camera maker and model and the error description.
I have tested it with my Canon 60d with Nexus 7(android version) with B Mode and I found the interval must greater than bulb time or I can’t press the start button. Why should interval must greater than bulb time? I have disable the noise reduce function and take raw data only.
Not sure if I understand the question correctly but what would be the point of having an interval shorter then the shutter speed? This would mean the interval timer would trigger the capture while the camera is still in previous capture.
Hmm… for example(all in bulb mode)
example 1 : frame count 3, interval 15 sec , bulb time 5 sec
result : exposure 5 sec (1’st frame) -> not thing happened 5 sec -> exposure 5 sec (2’nd frame) -> not thing happened 5 sec exposure 5 sec (3’rd frame)
It’s total 25 sec for those 3 frames
example 2 : frame count 3, interval 3 min , bulb time 1 min
result : exposure 1 min (1’st frame) -> not thing happened 1 min -> exposure 1 min (2’nd frame) -> not thing happened 1 min exposure 1 min (3’rd frame)
It’s total 5 min for those 3 frames
example 3 : frame count 3, interval 6 sec , bulb time 5 sec
result : exposure 5 sec (1’st frame) -> not thing happened 5 sec -> exposure 5 sec (2’nd frame)
It’s total 15 sec for those 2 frames
example 4 : frame count 3, interval 1 sec , bulb time 5 sec
result : The start button can’t be pressed
So my question is “Could I set the time between bulb exposures to 1 or 2 sec? How should I fill the numbers?”

No you can’t as it is an interval timer that performs capture at predefined interval.
What you can do is set an interval that is 3-4 second greater then your shutter speed.

Coming to my question.

I put my cam in bulb mode and use interval timer in app with following settings:
Frame count: 5
Interval: 3sec
Bulb time: 1sec
When I press start button the exposure is not 1 sec rather I have to stop it manually. Am I doing something wrong?
What I have understood so far is that interval is how long camera will wait to make the next exposure i.e. time between two exposures (inclusive of exposure time i think?) and bulb time is time of exposure itself.
Your guidance is required

Hi Zoltan… please, can I take multiple shots with my 4 Nikon D5500 setting the Interval Timer? I ask this because the Interval Timer works well only with one camera.
(I’m using the v 0.2.9 Windows x64 version.)

This is a fantastic app, but I’m having some issues with the bulb mode on Android with my D610 using the WU-1b adapter.
I tried doing a test shot with a 5-second exposure in bulb mode. When I hit the shutter button in the app, the time starts counting down, but then freezes and the shutter never closes again. I have to turn off the camera to get the shutter to close.
Is this a known bug?
