Would a WU-1A wireless Nikon adaptor bypass the internal wi-fi and let the app run the video due to external wi-f?

Then this program will not work to use an iPad mini as a monitor? Is there a way to treather it and use something like a hmdi lightening jack with this app?

D5300 WI-Fi is disabled at source, outgoing signal in the camera, every time the video record button is pushed.
