Correction: When I have the D5300 connected to the S5 and power on the D5300 the S5 asks whether I wish to connect to G+ Camera Importer, Gallery or qDslrDashboard (not D5300). By the way when I connect the D5300 via the OTG cable to the Samsung S5, a window pops up on the S5 asking if I want to connect to the D5300, Gallery or Camera Importer once or always. I select once for the d5300 and QDD launches. However, then pressing on the QDD USB icon does not do anything.

I tried a factory reset on the Samsung S5 - that did not make the usb connection work. I tried Android native with & without Nikon high speed transfer. Those changes did not make the usb connection work either.

What do you propose now?

I already tried, "Use Android native USB access" with and without Nikon high speed transfer.

What were the original apps that you turned off? Presumably they are included with the phone on purchase.

My Samsung Galaxy S5 is one month old so it should have the latest Android version. What were the original apps that you turned off?

I do not understand why usb works with another camera controlling app interacting with my Nikon D5300 and qDD does not.
