markh, Just spitballing here trying to offer any suggestions...off the wall or otherwise... Are you using any sort of internal or external intervalometer...and if so is it active on either of the cameras? With the lowly D5300, if WiFi is active it locks me out from using the intervalometer...not sur...

I have had no issue with using a 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro running El Capitan. Using a Nikon D5300, set the WiFi to Enable, on the WiFi icon at the top of the rMBP screen, select the Nikon Nikon_WU2_0090B5125F6D network, wait for the WiFi icon to go solid on the rMBP, start qDSLRdashboard, I double...
