As I didn't get an answer here, I had to answer the question myself. So I bought the tablet mentioned above and lo and behold it works excellently with qDslrDashboard.

Hello everybody Does anyone have any idea why qdslrdashbord does not work with my D3x? Whether via wifi or usb qdslrdashboard connects to the D3x, but when I am in LRTimlapse Screen then no input works. The usb mode of the camera is PTP, my tablet is a nexus 7 and the qdslrdashboard version is 3.5....

I am currently in Norway. If I am back in Germany I will buy a different USB cable and another USB OTG adapter. After I have tested everything I report back.

I use the latest version android 3.5.3. qDslrDashboard 'Use Android native USB access was enabled and I have tried ist also with disable; but the error came again and again. This is the reason why I do not know any more
