OK, now I know what I did wrong: Live View must be disabled and Host Mode should be enabled before starting the Interval Timer. However, if you leave it in Camera Mode, QDD will automatically switch to Host Mode during each shot and then back to Camera Mode again. This works the same wheter you use ...

Interval timer with in-camera wifi hangs
I am using QDD V3.5.3, a Nikon D5300 and an HP EliteBook Windows10 PC. I start the in-camera wifi network and connect the PC to it. I then start QDD and do a Nikon connect. OK! I missed that! The D5300 manual actually says that you can end a wifi session in a number of ways, e.g. by starting a film recording.
