Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Hi, you can check if the device (or the new hardware revision) is supported by OpenWrt on the list of supported revisions for this device . So far it doesn't seem to be supported. The manufacturer's page you linked to even does not mention a new hardware revision besides v1 and v3 ( Support page ), ...

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

The speed could be dependent from the position/orientation of the internal antenna. You could try to change the orientation of the device and see if that changes anything.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Hi Dave, you mention a "3020". Is that the name of your device type? The file I provide does contain the ddserver, but I don't think the firmware will work on any device other than the TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3, because the hardware configuration is different. I only tested my firmware on a TL-...

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Hi, I just updated my configuration to the latest snapshot version of Openwrt. In "make menuconfig" you need to select all the "Kernel modules > Wireless Drivers" starting with "MediaTek MT76x". I have selected those to be compiled into the kernel, not as modules, so as...

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Did you also set the working directory (or "Current directory" as in the screenshot) for tftpd64 to the one containing the .bin file to be flashed? The documentation says that tftpd64 uses the directory where it is installed, but after startup it shows another directory, mostly "C:\te...

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Look at the first screenshot for tftpd64 on this page. The drop down menu "Server Interface" is where you must select the correct interface and it should have the ip "192.168.0.66". As soon as the router boots up the progress bar should appear.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

This sounds like you have the " loopback adapter " installed and you changed the ip for that interface. The loopback adapter usually has the ip 127.0.0.1. You must change the ip for the physical interface that connects to your router. In my setup that is called "Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT N...

I have the switch on AP/Rng Ext/Client. This setting worked when I tested the latest image a few days ago.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Hi, if you want to use the precompiled image you just need Windows. You will have to install tftpd64 for a first install, as you can't install the openwrt firmware over the stock firmware. Just follow the steps in my how-to. If you run into problems, ask again.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3

Yes, I remember now that there was an additional driver added some time last year. I saw some article about this a few months ago, saw that there was an additional wifi driver, activated it in my config, and then I forgot. The official openwrt page for the router now also has both drivers listed. Gl...
