Well, miracle of miracles, by getting all of the files/instructions needed to use the TP-Link MR3040/OpenWRT from just one site[this one] everything now works just as advertised.

Yes I did download the package you referenced, and did the flashing. The TPlink wouldn't work for me on any software. So in desperation I stuck in the Nikon WU-1a and to my surprise qDslrDashboard works like a champ. I got the TP-Link because I read where the WU-1a only works with cell phones and so...

My Tp-Link MR3040 V.2 has been successfully loaded with the OpenWRT firmware: openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-mr3040-v2-squashfs-factory.bin.
