Re: Using the integrated WiFi of the Nikon D850 with qDSLRDashboard
It also works with Android, doesn't need iOS. And you don't need two devices to make it work, you can use a single device. I've been doing it for months with both my iPhone and Android Nexus 7 (individually with a single device, not two). Here are some instructions I wrote for the D850 Users group o...

Re: Nikon D850 - No LiveView in App
I've been doing a lot of testing with the D850 tonight. Everything seems to work except a LiveView picture itself on both Android and iOS. I got qDslrDashboard to connect to the built in WiFi of the D850 through SnapBridge on my iPhone, but my Android cannot make a WiFi connection at all through Sna...

Re: NPF Rule instead of the 600 Rules
Hi! I'm the author of the NPF rule. The link to the page with all details on the calculation and an online calculation tool is here : http://www.sahavre.fr/tutoriels/astrophoto/34-regle-npf-temps-de-pose-pour-eviter-le-file-d-etoiles It is in french but Google should translate it quite easily for y...

Re: DslrDashboard stops working at some point, no errors
Well, I hate to be the bearer of frustrating news, but DslrDashboard was a disaster during my entire week long night timelapse workshop. It randomly crashed and locked up or just stopped shooting all week long, sunrises, sunsets, and even during stable light during the night. It wasn't just auto hol...

Very nice, thanks!!! What is the "real slowest shutter"? How is that calculated?

Re: DslrDashboard stops working at some point, no errors
One of the reasons I bought a D700 over a D300s was not just because it was full frame, but also because there was nearly no performance hit with 14-bit NEFs vs the D300/D300s which takes a severe performance penalty compared with 12-bit NEFs. With a wired connection on the Ramper Pro and RAW + JPEG...

Re: DslrDashboard stops working at some point, no errors
It is not the same when you start a capture with an external trigger or when you start a capture from application with a PTP command. You can use your external trigger with qDD and have 0.1 interval. Interesting. That means I could still use DslrDashboard and the LRTimelapse component to do my expo...

Re: DslrDashboard stops working at some point, no errors
It is not an issue, it is not implemented by Nikon in older models. As I wrote Nikon begin adding the BULB option (command) with the D7100 model and the models after it. Without being a programmer, I guess I don't understand what command was added to later models. I use bulb all the time on the D70...
