Hey Klaus!
Thats the problem, once you hit record with the d5100, it cuts the video feed to an external monitor, and you only get live view on the nikon screen. You can only use an external monitor when shooting 24fps video, but not at 30fps. Thats why the app is better than the camera alone.

Re: qDslrDashboard Live View Frame Rates
Thanks for the reply! Because the d5100 doesnt output to a bigger monitor while recording video at 30p, it makes it very hard to use the camera in filming movies. When the camera is on a jib, the built in lcd is too small. So to use the app, as an external monitor is a blessing, coupled with full ca...

I have been using helicon remote, which has an even faster lv refresh rate than even dd. I hope it gets solv...

I am using it with a USB OTG cable on all of my devices. The lag is about twice that of DSLR dashboard!

very laggy
I have tried qdslr with my Nikon D5100, and my galaxy s4 phone. I have also tried it with a 7" rca quadcore tablet running KitKat 4.4.I find the live view is VERY laggy on both devices. Like a bad stop motion film! I have also installed DSLR dashboard from the play store. It seems to have a way...
