Fujifilm X-series Support

Post by davidahn »

Requesting Fujifilm X-series support.

At least for newer models with built-in wifi like the X-E2 and X-T1.

Thanks for an awesome product!

Is there a SDK for those cameras available?

I know there's an SDK for at least the X-T1... I have the X-E2, but Fujifilm's own apps work for both, so I'm hoping this will work on both. (The X-E2 got the remote control capabilities much later than the X-T1, but it has them now.)

https://github.com/FujifilmDeveloperNet ... pleApp.iOS

Thanks in advance.

Did you read the README.md ?
Does that sound like a SDK for controlling the camera?
With the Fujifilm Smart Publishing API Open Mobile Workflow (SDK) you can quickly add photo merchandising to your existing iOS application: we’ve built the UI for selecting products, composing products, capturing customer information and processing payment. We’ve added this as an easy and free alternative to developing your own UI with the Fujifilm Smart Publishing API RESTful services.

There was apparently an SDK released for Windows for X-T1 tethered shooting in January 2015:

I requested an update from @fujiguys, don't know if they'll respond.

Quick and painful response from @fujiguys: "Sorry, things have changed and we have no SDKs available for any of our cameras"

:(
Not sure why is it so hard for manufacturers to release documentation (SDK isn't that much needed) for their cameras (I think it would improve usability)
Hut down for Nikon and Sony.

Seems someone reverse engineered the Fuji wifi remote control protocol here: https://github.com/hkr/fuji-cam-wifi-tool Maybe that can be helpful to integrate Fuji Support in qdslrdashboard, which would be really amazing!
