Time-lapse Scheduling with dslrdashboardServer

I have a suggestion/request which is a slight variant of Time-lapse Scheduling request. I'm using a Nikon D800 attached to Raspberry Pi 2 with dslrddashboardserver on the Pi based on the iAstrohub astrophotography image. Control of the camera holy grail sequencing is through idslrdashboard on my iPhone. This works well !

As noted in the original feature request, the phone must stay running. As well, I can't get move very far from the raspberry Pi without loosing the WiFi connection. At -15C it would be nice to sit in a car to warm up :)

I would like to suggest that during static periods of holy grail imaging, i.e. during the full dark period of the night, that the dslrdashboardServer could be commanded to switch to an auto mode, that just repeats the current camera interval shooting without adjusting the exposure parameters. Then as dawn approached you could once again power on the phone/approach the WiFi dslrdashboardServer and command it to switch out of auto mode and continue with luminosity adjusted exposure. I know that dslrdashboardServer merely relays data at the moment.

To further complicate this idea, I'd love to acquire a Dynamic Perception slider and use your controller interface to control the slider. I have no idea what that would mean for allowing the dslrdashboardServer control the interval shooting, but I think from my reading, that at least their own app, can run without continuous connection.

Thanks

I use MR3040 and Lenovo A7600 tablet and can do up to 50m from camera. It you and external antenna to MR3040 you can extend it even to 100m.

ddserver cannot do anything. It is just "a proxy" between camera and remote device that relays commands.

You can always go with Camranger - it has almost everything you ask. It only cannot control NMX - they have own motorized equipment that you can control.

This would be a very useful information for new users. I believed ddserver could run by itself... Therefore i suggest to rename the software to ddproxy instead.

The whole point with having a battery router running ddserver, i think, is to set and forget.
