Short Question: Windows 8.1 Smartphone

I would like to know if qDslrDashboard would run on my Smartphone with Windows 8.1 or does it only run on Windows PC?

Just asking because I would like to buy a Lumia Smartphone.

As far I know it will not work.
I don't own a Windows phone yet (hope will manage to get one - maybe to replace my aging Samsung Galaxy S2) and then I can make it work.

Alright, thank you for the quick answer. It' just that at the moment I prefer a Lumia Smartphone over an Android one. But at the same time it would be nice to have the possibility to control my dslr with a smartphone.

No it will not work. The current Windows version is the old style Win32 app and not a newer Metro (Windows 8) app.

Have you considered creating a Windows Universal App? You would not need a windows phone, just a windows 8 pc or even a Windows 10 version.

A Windows Universal app runs on a Windows Phone, Windows Tablet and the Windows 8 (or 10) desktop.
