Motion detection trigger - Idea

Post by NoLogic »

Could it have been created a trigger that took pictures from the motion sensor (mobile camera) on a mobile phone?
Just as MotionCam for windows or SailentEye for android.
With the difference that the cell phone triggered camera to take a photo or multiple photos.

But maybe this would be a separate application?

Thanks for a nice app that runs smoothly on my Samsung S5 and Nikon D3300 with wu-1a.

This idea is very interesting..
I have testing to use MOTION DETECTOR for ANDROID. When MOTION DETECTOR trigger an event TASKER launch DSLRDASHBOARD. At this point all is correct, but when TASKER pressed the LIVEVIEW button lose control of touchscreen and is not posible recording video.
I supposed that DSLRDASHBOARD is running a "top layer" over TASKER...

Any idea/suggestion for I can control DSLRDASHBOARD via TASKER?

Both Motion detector and Tasker are interesting apps. But I think a built in solution would be better.
Perhaps a standalone app would be easier.

Trebol-a, why would you use LiveView when all you want is to trigger the picture to be taken automatically?

I would like to have a feature like this for nature observation, similar to a game camera but with high quality optics of a dslr camera.

A seperate display similar to "custom brackting" would be fine.
Options to choose:
- mark an area in the live view to observe
- select a sensitivity
- select an action
a) take photos, numer of photos, time between photos
b) take a video (from live view), duration of video

Good input Qwertz.
My initial thoughts was to put the mobile next to the camera and use the phone as the motion detector.

There are possible pro's and con's for both.
For instance less battery time when motion detection through qDD?
Easier alignment when motion detection through qDD?

By the way, my thoughts was also nature observation with high quality.

I'm actually in the situation that I'd like to use a motion detector function in qdslrdashboard.
Are there any new developments?

I know this thread is old, but I would love to see a motion detection feature added. Looking for something similar that is offered through magic lantern where the live view loops and compares images I believe. And, if the image is different enough it triggers camera to take photo.

Why not use magic lantern? Camera is not supported and development appears to be stopped.
