iphone 5s / iPad 2 : impossible to connect to my D300

Post by HisteroH »

all is in the title ;)

I bought the app 0.27 today
All seems running fine except that the app doesn't see any connected device on DDserver. I always have error message: "No DSLR device found on DDserver 192.168.1.1" and also "Failed to connect to Nikon wireless DSLR" when I click Nikon wifi button.
D300 reset to factory defaults, latest firmware
MR3040 seems to be running, updated and configured properly
iphone wifi ip is ok...

Any help or suggestions appreciated :)
...I really don't know what else to try...I'm stuck :(

Check if the D300 is in USB PTP mode.

Pair your iOS device wireless with the MR3040 wireless.
Connect the D300 with the USB cable to MR3040 and turn it on.
Open the web browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1
You should have the OpenWrt web interface. Under System->Software check that ddserver V0.2-13 is installed
Navigate to Status->System log
You should have something like this there:

Code: Select all

Apr 16 17:27:53 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6159043.470000] usb 1-1.1.4.3: USB disconnect, device number 85
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160214.910000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: new high-speed USB device number 86 using ehci-platform
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160215.020000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: New USB device found, idVendor=04b0, idProduct=0430
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160215.020000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160215.020000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: Product: NIKON DSC D7100
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160215.030000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: Manufacturer: NIKON
Apr 16 17:47:24 Arduino kern.info kernel: [6160215.030000] usb 1-1.1.4.4: SerialNumber: 4302375
If this is ok start qDslrDashboard and press the 'Network' button.
If this does not found the D300 then try and long press the 'Network' button and enter 192.168.1.1 as IP address and press the 'Connect' button

Hi Hubaiz and thanx for your advices !

It appeared that usb was not set on PTP...I still have the no connected DSLR error with DDLserver and also no wireless Nikon found BUT after the error it starts LV.

I'm able to view shoot, most of the app seems to work but as I'm totally new to the app, I can't judge if it works as it should.

My log seems to have stop logging activity and I don't get the informations you gave me. Time logging is also wrong even if I've set it correctly in openwrt.
It looks like the log was kind of freezed at a certain time..
Here is my system log, please let me know what you think about it

Re: iphone 5s / iPad 2 : impossible to connect to my D300

Post by HisteroH »

Hi,

After a few tests in the app, it appears that the app is really buggy and unuseable for me.

I'm pretty sure that it's because my D300 isn't detected properly (see my log in my previous post)
I mean the app works, but when, for example, I try to change shutter speed, it won't keep de value, or set it to a wrong value. Actually if I want 1/80, I need to select 1/320 ...
BKT won't keep actual shuter speed values, and also can't be desactivated. So for HDR photography it's impossible to use.

To summarise, when I try to connect, I have to error message saying that there is no D300, BUT it connects anyway and starts de LV. I can access all the sttings, but when I try to fine tune, it sorts me wrong values or freeze the app

If someone has any idea on how I could detect properly my D300 I'd really appreciate !!
