I'm looking to switch from my Nikon D3300 to a G7 since I only shoot video. I would like to use the G7 on the Zhiyun Crane 2 as it's the cheapest way to get quality follow focus on a stabilizer and manual focus control is a must for me. I'm also planning on using Nikon lenses and a focal reducer, so I would be using the follow focus servo, not the direct camera connection, but can the gimbal still control settings like ISO, shutter speed, and start/stop recording? I have also seen some people say the G7 doesn't work with external monitors when recording starts, so they use wifi connected to a phone running the app, but there's a considerable amount of delay that I don't think I would be okay with shooting video. What about through USB tethering to an android with an app like qDSLRDashboard?
Would connecting the Crane 2 to the camera allow controlling settings directly from the gimbal, and what would be the most viable option for monitoring?
