qDslrDashboard running but no UI on PC.

I have downloaded and installed 3.5.9 and it seems to be running (according to task manager), but there is no user interface that opens. I run Windows 7 still, could that be the problem? I also had to download and save "api-ms-win-core-winrt-l1-1-0" and "api-ms-win-core-winrt-string-l1-1-0" dll files before the application installed properly (I think). I don't know computers at all and have no idea what is going on. Halp!

There are 2 .cmd files, start it with the DirectX one.
