DDServer not found

Post by Thomas220 »

Hello everyone, please excuse my bad english, but I have to use a translator.
My gear:
Archos tablet running Android 6 (Marshmallow)
qDslrDashboard V3.6.4arm64
TP-Link 3040
Firmware: OpenWrt Barrier Breaker r38444 / LuCI Trunk (svn -r9925)
USB cable
Canon EOS 1100D
======
I connect the camera to the TP-Link.
I turn on the TP-Link.
Then I turn on the camera.
3 green LEDs now light up on the TP-Link.
I connect my tablet to the TP-Link via WiFi.
Then I start qDslrDashboard.
In the message window appears:
Searching for DDServer
DDServer not found, connecting to IP 192.168.1.1 (this is the IP of the TP-Link).
List connected DSLR at IP: 192.168.1.1
=======
But there is no camera listed
What am I doing wrong. I've been sitting on it for almost 2 days now.
Many Thanks
Thomas

PS:
I installed the "DSLR Controller" app on an older smartphone (Samsung S3).
With this I can reach and control the camera.

You must flash the MR3040 with OpenWrt that contains the ddserver application ( https://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/ ) instructions for flashing and updating ( https://dslrdashboard.info/tp-link-mr30 ... wrt-flash/ and https://dslrdashboard.info/tp-link-mr30 ... e-upgrade/ )
If you already have OpenWrt on it you can use the firmware upgrade instructions.

Hello hubaiz, thanks for the help.
I am currently on my way to my holiday destination.
I'll report as soon as I get there.
Thank you again and have a nice evening.
Thomas :)

Hello hubaiz,
Thank you again. :)
After the sysupgrade qdslrdashboard is now in contact with the camera.
However, I now have the problem that the dashboard freezes after a recording.
In the upper part it says "Capture in progress". The dashboard does not respond to touch. No matter what I do.
It doesn't matter if I do this on the home screen or with LRTimelaps.
Only when I turn the camera off and on again, reconnect, can I take over the control again.
But the dashboard freezes again after the first shot.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you
Thomas

PS: I have qdslrdashboard installed on my Windows laptop.
Unfortunately, exactly the same thing happens here.
After a recording, the program "freezes".
What can I do? What am I doing wrong?
I watched the tutorial by G. Wegner and do exactly what is described there.
Thank you
Thomas

In qDslrDashboard settings disable the 'Use Canon local storage' option.

Hallo hubaiz, thank you,
but this option has been disabled all the time.
I have now connected a second 1100D.
No change.
Does it have anything to do with the camera type?
Many thanks

Some Canon cameras will work with 'Use Canon local storage' enabled and some not.
You should try enabled and disabled to, note that you need to change the option before you connect the camera.
Also it would help if you post some screenshot. What are you exposure settings? What do you mean under 'recording'?

Hello hubaiz,
many thanks for the help.
With the 'Use Canon local storage' setting set to 'On' everything works fine.
I also did the first (test) recordings.
Everything's Alright :D
Thank you again and have a good start into the new week.
Thomas
