QDSLRDASHBOARD on Os X 10.11 El Capitan

Post by pbrena »

Has anyone have success using QDSLRDASHBOARD on El Capitan ?

I tried both V0.2.9 (and i received a "DSLR connected" message but after a few seconds it dissapears and nothing happens)

and V0.3 BETA9 (no message)

I can test USB connection only, OS x recognises the camera (Nikon d7000) quite all right and both version run in Yosemite with no problems at all

Same here. Tested with 0.29 and 0.3beta. QDslrDashboard found the camera (D700+D300s) which i have connected via usb. But no function. If i connect via TP-Link MR3040 it works fine. It seems there must be a problem of usb connection (which i need on my studio). On OSX Yosemite it worked via usb.

I noticed the same on El Capitan.
The only way I could get the USB DSLR to connect is by starting qDslrDashboard first and then turning on the camera.
Also I disable auto start for Photos for the DSLR.

Hello
no chance in the moment to get a connection with my Canon 450D and USB with OS X 10.11. With the TP_link and Wlan there no problems with the 0.29 and the 0.30 b.
Best regards

I tried it out several times with my both cams via usb (1st start QDslrDashboard then turn the cam on).
The only thing what QDslrDashboard is doin: it says "USB DSLR Device Connected".
No other function.

Nikon and Leica USB tethering on el capitan does not work in all apps (Nikon camera control pro, LR, etc).
It's not the problem with qDD but with OS which takes control over devices connected with PTP protocol and no other application can connect to device.

Since there was no support for MTP nor PTP in OSX earlier, Apple had to overdo it...

A temporary solution that I found and tested is:
Connect your DSLR with USB.
If Photos loads close it (best you disable auto start for the connected camera)
Open a Terminal window
Type in:

Code: Select all

sudo killall -9 PTPCamera
and press enter, it will ask for your password
Start qDslrDashboard and press the USB button, now it should find the USB DSLR
