Nikon D810 Will Not Connect Through TP Link

Post by rs026 »

I am using a Nikon D810 connected to DslrDashboard through a TP Link. The set up is not working. After the system was set up I logged in and I selected the Nikon button. The following message on my Galaxy s5 appears and nothing else happens: "Connecting to Nikon wireless camera at IP 192.168.1.1". I have tried selecting the network button and it lists connected DSLR at IP 192.168.1.1.

The following procedures were followed to set up the system:

1. I downloaded v2 of the TP Link sw for use with qDslrDashboard;

2. I loaded the sw into the TP link through my iMac using etherlink;

3. I downloaded qDslrDashboard on the phone;

4. I connected to the TP Link wireless through DSLRController (connection sucessful);

5. I connected the TP Link to the D10; and

6. Started qDslrDashboard on the phone and obtained the messages listed above. Nothing else happens int he program.

Any thoughts?

You should follow these steps:
- turn on the TP-Link and wait till the wireless LED is on
- connect your D810 with USB cable to the TP-Link full size USB port and turn it on
- connect you S5 wireless to TP-Link wireless (by default it should be DDServerAP)
- start qDslrDashboard and press the 'Network' button (second from left).

It still will not connect. Also, the listing for the wireless TP Link on my S5 is not DDSever, it is DSLRControler. Could that be related to the problem?

You flashed the wrong firmware.
The OpenWrt firmware with the ddserver package for the MR3040/MR3020 is available here: https://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/
Instructions to flash the firmware: https://dslrdashboard.info/tp-link-mr30 ... wrt-flash/
Instructions to update the firmware: https://dslrdashboard.info/tp-link-mr30 ... e-upgrade/

As you already have OpenWrt on your MR3040 you should download the 'sysupgrade' image that is matching your MR3040 version and follow the firmware update instructions.
