New to Forum - With a Q

Post by wildbi111 »

I have flashed my MR-3040 with openwrt and using qdlsrdashboard can connect to my Nikon D300 via the hard wire network connection but I am unable to get it to work with the wifi. Any ideas/suggestions?

Turn on the MR3040 and connect your PC with it (wireless or wired)
Open your browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1
Do you get the OpenWrt web administration page?
If yes then navigate to System->Software and check you have there the ddserver package (should be V0.2-13)

Connect your DSLR to MR3040 with USB and turn it on.
The in OpenWrt web interface navigate to Status->System Log
You should have there something like this:

Code: Select all

Fri Oct 18 08:18:11 2013 kern.emerg Saving PID 835 to /var/run/DSLRController.pid

Seams you are using the wrong firmware.

The OpenWrt ddserver firmware is available here: http://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/

I downloaded the firmware image from the link you provided and re-flashed the router. Once re-connected the version shows up as:

Powered by LuCI 0.11 Branch (0.11+svn9951) OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment 12.09.1

Is that correct?

OK, so using my tablet I can connected to the router with the Nikon D300 connected to both via USB. But that is via the network cable connected to my home network router. When I disconnected that cable I'd like to connect via wireless but I cannot. I can ssh into the MR3040 and see ddserver running, etc. Before I just start making changes tothe config do you have any ideas?

You should pair your tablet wireless with the MR3040 wireless and press the network button.
If it does not find the connected camera try and long press the 'Network' button and enter the router IP address (192.168.1.1 by default) and finally press the 'Connect' button.

Once I attempt pairing it goes into "obtaining ip address" and nothing happens. It seems the 192.168.1.1 address is assigned tothe ethernet interface and there is nothing assigned to the wifi interface.
