I am looking for a good way to transfer photos from my Nikon D7200 wirelessly to a folder on my Win10 laptop during an event. I really don't care (at least now) to control the camera, take pictures remotely, etc. Will this work well for my needs?

Yes it will work, ypu just need to turn on "image review after capture" in qDD settings. But there are few limitations:
If you save photos in RAWs and JPEGs long JPEGs will be downloaded.
If you lose connection you will have to connect qDD to camera manually and photos that were taken while not connected won't be downloaded automatically.

Although for downloading only I recommend different app for downloading photos - Airnef. It is made to do only one thing - downloading photos from Nikon DSLRs.

Also mind that built in wifi has very limited range.

Thank you. I especially appreciate the list of limitations. So much nicer than discovering them on my own ;- )
I will play with it as well as Airnef.
