TP-LINK 3020 V3

by Markus from Paris
Good morning to everyone,

I have just bought this router and unfortunately the version 3. I have read about the missing OpenWRT compatibilities but managed to install the Pulpstone OpenWRT. It works great. But the main intention is the use of qdsldashboardserver, which is not yet supported. Does anyone of you know, if there is a workaround to still use the DDServer on the Pulpstone installation. Sorry, I really am new to all of this.
Any ideas or replies are hugely appreciated. I would like to use this for a Nikon camera and in an ideal world on an iPhone. Here is the second problem; as the app qdslr is not available anymore due to Apple internal politics. I was thinking of getting a cheap Android phone. Does anyone know which Android OS needs to be installed to run qdslr?

Many thanks and kind regards
Markus

Here is the ddserver package for that CPU: https://goo.gl/h6YzPh
if you have access to the OpenWrt ssh you can install it with opkg or you can eventually use the update instructions and the update package by replacing the ddserver package in the archive with this new one ( https://dslrdashboard.info/ddserver-package-updater/ )

Installation of the ddserver package is not possible, because libstdcpp.ipk and ucxlibcxx.ipk are missing.
Any idea how to get this working?

Your MR3020 should be connected to the internet and then it should automatically install the missing packages.

Dear Zoltan Hubai, do i get you right when i think you mean that this ddserver package you mentioned above (https://goo.gl/h6YzPh) can be installed via opkg on the TL-MR2030 V.3 without having OpenWrt firmware support for this device? As many other people, i just bought the V.3 version of this router without being aware of the openwrt support issue. However, i would gladly give it a try using your server package.

Thank you very much in advance for any reply that might help.

You can only install ddserver with an OpenWrt firmware.
You have already OpenWrt available for the MR3020 V3.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I had already found a (presumably) preliminary version of Openwrt frimware for the V.3 which, however, was not accepted while flashing. I, therefore, thought openwrt had cancelled the V3-project. I'm glad to hear there is valid firmware available now. I will try to get the Openwrt firmware and give it a try.

Best regards,

You can't install openwrt via the web interface of the manufacturer firmware.
You have to use a tftpd server to do that.
See here: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/tp-link-mr3 ... s/10273/27
I don't have this device, so I have not tested this, but I guess from the posting in the link above that you can use the tutorial for the TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3. You just have to change the IP address for the tftpd server mentioned in the other tutorial from "192.168.0.66" to "192.168.0.225".
Get the firmware image here (that is the same as the "factory file" mentioned in the first link above), rename it to "tp_recovery.bin" and put it in the working folder of tftpd32/64. The rest is the same as for the TP-Link TL-WR902AC AC750 v.3.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I already managed to flash the OpenWRT software from Pulpstone to the mr3020 V.3. Worked fine with the tftpd32/64 software on windows. However, Z. Hubai's tutorial on how to get the ddserver package onto the router using ddserver-package-updater is still something i'm struggeling with (due to unresolved dependencies libstdcpp and ucxlibcxx). Although i found that method to be more easy for people like me that are not so deep into the field, i will now try to bring ddserver onto the router via ssh (which was the first method Z. Hubai mentioned and which is also explained in detail by G. Wegner (https://gwegner.de/tipps/wlan-router-fu ... dashboard/)). If i get into trouble with the latter, i will try to compile the ddserver as you suggested.

Best Regards
