LiveView autofocus issue in Tamron 70-300mm?

Post by MilesSawyer »

I just bought a Tamron 70-300mm VC lens to pair with my Nikon D7500, used from Amazon. The lens is in good condition and otherwise works perfectly, but the autofocus in LiveView stops working if I zoom in past 135mm. It just kind of clicks and the focus wheel inches forward everytime I press the shutter. I've read that there may be some compatibility issues with older Tamron lenses and newer Nikon bodies, but it's just weird that it works fine from 70-135 and shits out after that. Viewfinder AF works just fine.

I bought the lens for less than half of the new price point so it's not the biggest deal in the world if I can't get it to work, but I was wondering if this was an issue with the lens itself or an issue with compatibility, or even something I can remedy myself.
