Z6 connection on macos Mojave

Having no luck with connecting my Z6 to the macos app via Mojave. When I connect the mac to my Z6 wifi, it connects but drops soon after. If I connect the Z6 to the wifi network of my home (which my mac is also connected to), then the app doesn't connect to my z6 even when I choose the correct IP address of the Z6 to connect to
What is the best way to wirelessly connect my Z6 on the mac to qdslrdashboard? I want to be able to see the Menu LCD on the app
