Soft, tiny preview and no RAW

I connected my D5300 to qDslrDashboard and Live preview works somehow.
However, it is very low quality and it seems, this is also the only output I am getting:
blurry jpgs (640*420px) with names like _DSC2282.NEF.jpg.
Camera's set to RAW only and it (this) works nicely in entangle. So, maybe it is a setting I am not finding ...

The D5300 maximum live view image size is 640x424
Those are only preview images that are downloaded for fast image review.
The image is stored on your camera SD card.

So, in qdslrdashboard pictures are always stored on the SD and are not being transferred to the computer automatically (such as with the Nikon tools or entangle)?

The default is that the captured image is stored on the camera SD card.
You can press and hold the capture button (it will turn red) and then if you press the capture button the captured images will be downloaded.
