Nikon Z cameras & Focus stacking

Post by otas »

First: I know that my Nikon Z6 does not need qDSLRdashboard for focus stacking (correct rather focus bracketing).
It has its own »Focus shift shooting« mode.

But, I tried it anyway because I wanted to find out for my friend (he has a D750) how to set it up and how it works.
However, with Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 on a Z6, the focus always stayed on the starting point. I didn't get any focus shift in the image sequence shot in focus stacking mode controlled by qDSLRdashboard.

Focus-shift feature is not available on the Nikon Z50. Is there anybody out there who knows if qDSLRdashboard focus stacking works with Z50 and Nikkor Z lenses?
