Interval Timer Malfunction?

Post by Thomas220 »

Hi everyone,
yesterday I wanted to take pictures of the night sky just after sunset.
Started the sequence at about 9:45 p.m.
In the interval timer I set an interval of 27 seconds. The frame count was set to 1,000 images.
Used the LRtimelapse setting and also Holy Grail (wasn't pitch black yet).
Purely mathematically, at least 2 images per minute should be triggered.
This also worked up to an exposure time of about 8 seconds.
Then, at a maximum exposure time of 15 seconds, only one image per minute was taken.
On the screenshot this is easy to see.
According to the description of qDSLR dashboard, there should be at least 3-5 seconds between the longest exposure time and the timer interval.
For me, there are 12 seconds in between, but it doesn't work properly.
A Canon EOS 5D II was used.
What am I doing wrong?
Gunther Wegner once wrote that the interval timer in the qDSLR dashboard is not so 100% accurate.
But I can't imagine such a deviation with the best will.
What mistake (or mistake in thinking) did I make?
Thank you
Thomas
PS: the values for the RAW images are the same
