first off: I'm a new user and don't have experience with older versions of qDD.
I'm very impressed with your goal and it has the potential to be a game changer.
I would be mighty happy if it all would work out. 'Inshallah' as we say here in Istanbul...
All these issues are with V0.3 beta9...
CASE 1:
with set up:
Canon 5D II and III
Samsung Galaxy 3 7.0 SM-T210 running Android 4.4.2
I am unable to connect to either cameras using USB. Checking the 'use root for USB access' option in settings does not make a difference.
What is this 'root' anyway? I'm new to Android.

So, I guess it's something with my SM-T210 because the OTG-cable is brand new...
CASE 2:
Canon 5D III
Mac Pro running OSX 10.10.2
Using an original Canon USB cable all went well. (I tired most common settings and LRT auto holy grail.) I'll do some additional testing but so far no bugs detected.
CASE 3:
Canon 5D II
Mac Pro running OSX 10.10.2
Unable to connect the camera. I will now update the cameras firmware from 2.0.9 to and 2.1.2 and see if this makes a difference.
CASE 4:
with set up:
Canon 5D II
Samsung Galaxy 3 7.0 SM-T210 running Android 4.4.2
TP-Link MR3040 version 2
A stable connection, all settings are accessible but I am unable to to make changes to shutter speed, aperture and iso etc. except autofocus. Selection menus pop up but my selection is never registered.
CASE 5:
with set up:
Canon 5D III
Samsung Galaxy 3 7.0 SM-T210 running Android 4.4.2
TP-Link MR3040 version 2
Again, all went well. (I tired most common settings and LRT auto holy grail.) I'll do some additional testing but so far no bugs detected.
In short:
I'm not able to use Galaxy 3 7.0 SM-T210 through USB. I am open for suggestions.
TP-Link MR3040 allows connection but with 5D II it is flawed. I will get back to you after upgrading camera firmware.
I will make further tests and report. Is there something specific you would like me to take a look at?
Thanks for the brilliant work!
PS: After my next payday, I will make a donation
