Descriptions of Workflow

Hi,
I've been reading up on time lapse - have Gunter's LR TimeLapse (which is where I got this app recommended). In trying to understand just how to set up this app to operate, I've been trying to find a description of a workable workflow. While the instruction manual gives a great overview of every button (thanks for being so thorough), unless I've missed it, it does not describe a work flow from start to finish - which is what I think I need.
Does anyone have a video or a written document that describes just how to use this app in a work flow that will generate, say, an image every 3-5 seconds using ISO ramping? I think I have it understood, but it's just not working correctly - note the variable intervals I mentioned above.
Also, is there a way to have the camera's intervalometer running and this app only control the aperture, shutter speed, and/or ISO on the fly to do smooth ramping?
This seems like a great program with a great deal of capability - but I'm just not getting precisely what it can and can't do - nor how to organize a sound work flow to make it run smoothly.
Thanks in advance to whomever can help me.
Steve
