5D3 Connectivity Issues?

Post by PixelHobo »

OK so I have a Canon 5D3 and would like to connect this to an iPad2 so that I can use the iPad as a monitor for shooting etc. This is without a WiFi option as the 5D3 isn't WiFi enabled. Does this simply use a USB connection or? I have tried with a Mini HDMI signal but nothing.

When connected to the App I simply get a black screen, which I for now assume it's because HDMI although a clean signal from the 5D3 is simply not supported by your App.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Not that HDMI isn't supported by qDD. It isn't supported by your device.
There only few chiniese tablets that have HDMI input. Everything else has HDMI output only.

And when it comes to iOS devices there are no wire connections available at all because apple thinks that everyone will use wireless solutions with them.

You can connect with camera only with WiFi. Even Apple's Camera connection kit oand lightning->USB adaptor are only for transfering photos and videos. Cannot be used for camera control.

For WiFi you need to buy mobile WiFi router like TP-Link MR3040 and install firmware prepared by Zoltan.
