QUESTION: Custom Bracketing - step size (EV) and other features

I'd like to bracket Nikon D800e and Sony a6000.
Is it possible to set bracketing exposure step at 4 EV on both Nikon and Sony?
I could not find specifics of bracketing capabilities of this app, and there is no trial version. Could you please explain whether this app can help overcoming camera-controlled bracketing limitations, such as Nikon's max bracketing step of 1 EV.
Thanks,
Michael

You could use/try the free desktop versions (Linux, OSX, Windows):
http://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/
Max EV value is 3

I tried windows x64 version, applied the fix.. program does not detect the camera..
When you Max EV value is 3 - what does that mean - can I control Nikon camera to take -3EV | 0 | +3EV sequence with a single press of a button?

Did you install the WinUSB driver as described here:

The a6000 will work only with wireless

I ran some test tonight after downloading and installing Android ver 0.3.4
I connected to my Nikon D7100 and wanted to see all permutations of aeb for hdr work
I found you can set up to 20 Frame bracketing plus zero = 21 Frames total (10 Above and 10 Below)
I found you can set EV steps from .33 (1/3rds) up to 5 EV step at a time
It will NOT exceed +/- 5 EV for any reason so if you set it for 5 EV steps at 20 Frames..then all your frames are at +/- 5 EV
because you maxed it out...
If you set it at .33 (1/3 steps) then you will have a nice 20 Frame spread all different...
You just have to remember that it will give you 10 frames above and 10 frames below zero and equally spread the steps out if you don't demand them to go beyond +/- 5 at either end of the 10 frames...
I am wonderfully tickled that this app exceeds the camera Frame number
the D7100 will only go a full span of 5 frames no matter what you set the steps at...
Example ... 1EV steps will give you -2,-1,0,1,2 (thats 5 frames)
One thing the camera will do is exceed the max EV figure for example if you set the steps in the camera
to 2EV steps then you get -4,-2,0,2,4
Hope this helps somebody deciding on whether of not to use this app...
For my use...I needed more than 5 Total Frame span...

You did those tests wrong.
Did same test with D610 (+/- 10 frames 1EV) and it looks that the limit is the shortest and longest shutter time.
I stopped sequence at 19th frame with time of 64s and didn't wait for last 2 with times of 128 and 256 seconds.
But to go over 30s you have to set camera to bulb time.
D7000 does not have bulb with remote control so I got maximum spread from 1/8000s to 30s.
With camera set to aperture priority you cannot set shutter time because it is done by camera so you are limited only to exposure compensation limit.

I had an impression that your answer contradicted previous one, hence would like a straight exact info:)

Nothing like starting a reply by telling someone a test they did was done wrong...
My test was done in aperture mode and was done exactly right by my camera
The results reported were what I experienced...
Exactly...
I don't believe there is a right and wrong...
Only what results you get...
My recommendation is try the software yourself and see for yourself what you get...
and let's all try not to be THE ONLY CORRECT POSTER HERE.....
What do they call these individuals you find in every single forum that contradict every one else's contributions....
Ah yes "TROLLS"
