Looking to improve my D750 videos by using rack focus via a tap on a tablet.
What would suitable hardware be? I'd like to use a cable rather than wireless.
I'm presuming that wireless with an iPad wouldn't work as well as a wired android here.
Also, when I tap on someone's face, how direct is the refocusing? I don't want it to go to infinity and then sweep back until it looks good!
Recommended hardware for D750 video rack focus

With the camera built in wireless video recording will not work.
So your option would be an Android device that has the USB host function or
using the TP-Link MR3040 wireless router with OpenWrt and the ddserver package (this would work with iOS devices to)

Works the same, qDslrDashboard only sends the command to the camera and the camera is performing the focusing.thewinelake wrote:Also, when I tap on someone's face, how direct is the refocusing? I don't want it to go to infinity and then sweep back until it looks good!

Thanks. I've ordered the USB wifi modem and will experiment with iPhone/iPad.
